Rain Today Social in 2 Weeks

Good Morning!


It looks like the rain (according to the doppler) is going to appear just in time for the social. You all are more than welcome to still go up for a quick play, but 2 hours outside in this weather is a bit too long for me as I'm just getting over a cold.

 So I guess I'll just have to  now use these two hours to play with my new puppy! After 8 months without Bailey, it seemed time for us and for Chase to grow our family.

Two weeks ago today we travelled to Cold Spring, NY and acquired the newest member of our family, an 8.5 week old Golden named Trix. He is in the period of shots where his immunity isn't full, so he won't be at the shop until after May 10th at which point he will be so excited, Im sure, to meet you!

He is the cutest thing (what dog isn't?) and we are so in love with him!

I was telling my brother-in-law just before we went to pick him up that Trix is going to have some big shoes to fill and he said the most wonderful thing in response: "Big shoes indeed, but I'm certain Trix will create some big shoes of his own." I love that and based on the past two weeks of life with Trix, Craig was right on. He has been working diligently at creating those big shoes.

I'm attaching a picture so when you come to the store you'll know which one is Trix and which one is Cooper :)

Easter Egg Hunt

Wow, I am so impressed with the turnout and with how many people love their dogs!


I think this Easter Egg Hunt was completed in record speed: just under 5 minutes for 287 eggs...that is amazing! Next year we need to double the eggs and double the space.

I tried to make sure every dog left with eggs, hopefully I was successful. Thank you all so much for coming out; how lucky were we that during our brief Hunt, the rain had stopped? 

Congratulations to Jennifer Harrington for finding the golden egg. I am certain Frankie will enjoy his $50 gift certificate to Hot Diggity!

Bring your baskets and your umbrella (just in case) and we will see you at the Green for an 11am SHARP start for the Easter Egg Hunt!

Easter Egg Hunt Update

I have been filling Easter Eggs all afternoon under the VERY watchful eye of Inspector #9 a.k.a. Chase Merriman. He has personally inspected each egg, drooled on several and even sampled a handful. He definitely approves and appears to be the Plastic Easter Egg's number 1 fan.


I know what you are all thinking about...the weather. Me too. Well I have learned my lesson, and I will decide tomorrow, not tonight, if the Hunt will be cancelled. I will send an email in the morning by 9am, and I will also post here on the blog whether or not we will have the Easter Egg Hunt.

If the weather co-operates, we will see you at 11am at the Green in the Commons. Please note, we were shipped the wrong size eggs, and ended up with the small eggs, so it is imperative that all dogs be on leashes, and owners take the eggs as soon as they are found. We do not want any dogs choking on Easter Eggs!!!! Please please please be aware of what your pup is doing at all times.

Once all the eggs have been found, you are welcome back to Hot Diggity for coffee and snacks. We ask that if you do not have future plans for the plastic eggs, you recycle them at the store. It's easy! Just put the empty eggs in the box with the sign that says "Please Recycle Eggs Here". For doing so, we will give you a free easter egg bakery treat. 

In the event that the weather does not co-operate, we will not hold the Hunt. Unfortunately we can't postpone to Sunday, as the Green is being used by another group. So what we will do is hide the eggs throughout Hot Diggity, and humans can come and find them for their dogs. You will have the whole day to find the eggs and while it that doesn't come close to the pups getting to find them outside, at least your doggies will get some treats, and you may win the $50 gift card by finding the golden egg!

So lets keep our fingers crossed for this weather band to pass over us before 11am and hopefully we will see you up at the Green tomorrow at 11!

Now back to work filling eggs for me and Chase.
(I love my job :D )

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt!

Join us on Saturday, April 11th at 11am as our pups hunt for treat-filled Easter eggs, which will be  "hidden" throughout the Village Green in the Commons.


Keep an eye out for the golden egg, there is a $50 gift card to Hot Diggity located inside! If you plan on coming, give us a shout, we want to be sure the Bunny leaves enough eggs for all the dogs! You can just drop us an email at woof@hotdiggityonline.com, stop by the store or give us a ring at 508-477-2663.

Bring your Easter baskets and a leash, 'cause all pups need to be on one. 

This is a FREE event, it's our Spring gift to you! There will be treats back at the store for the doggie-owners and you are all welcome to come back and enjoy!

Please, if you can spare some time today, help the Elio's to find their Puggle, Dutch.

He escaped from the Cape Cod Animal Hospital the night it caught fire.

If you see him, please call the Cape Cod Animal Hospital at 508-428-6393 or Bayview Kennels at 508-362-6506.

I'm sure you can imagine that he is scared and hungry. Please if you see him, call either number right away and try to stay with him, if you can't get him to come to you.

He is thought to be around or near the Cape Cod Airport buildings.

If you go, bring your cell phone, some treats and a leash.

Volunteers are popping up everywhere!

WOW!


I never imagined that we would have responses so quickly! Only hours after I sent out the email directing people to this blog, we have a landscape architect, a web-designer and a photographer all willing to donate their time and services!

Tom Berkley is offering his services as a landscape architect

Maria Silva of Coastal Paws Dog Walking is offering her skills and will design the website. You can see her current website at http://coastalpaws.home.comcast.net

and Stacey Hedman has offered free photography services, which may come in handy when reporters from near and far want to write about how a little town called Mashpee pulled together and created an amazing dog park. You know they will need pictures :)
